Chef Katherine King, a celebrated Chef de Cuisine, brings over 15 years of expertise in kitchen and catering management. She excels in food production for events ranging from intimate gatherings to large-scale functions for up to 3,000 people. Her skill set includes space and production management, recipe and menu development, party planning, and event production. As the Executive Chef and Owner of Katherine King Special Events in Los Angeles and Palm Desert since 1994, Chef Katherine has overseen numerous private events, including birthdays and special occasions, demonstrating her extensive experience in the catering industry.
A graduate of the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, Chef Katherine began her culinary career at the prestigious Campton Place Hotel. She further honed her skills at renowned establishments such as Zuni Café and the Post Street Bar & Café. After relocating to Los Angeles, she contributed her expertise in quality assurance at Richfield's Specialty Seafood and served as a chef at the exclusive Geoffrey's of Malibu. Her notable tenure as Executive Chef at Ambrosia Caterers included orchestrating high-profile events such as the Academy Awards Governors' Galas and numerous studio events and premieres. In addition to her catering achievements, Chef Katherine has shared her knowledge as an instructor in Effective Food Costing and Kitchen Management at UCLA's Culinary Arts Program.
Chef Katherine's areas of specialization are diverse and include food styling and photography, event management and production, recipe development, menu consultation, and kitchen operations. She has a passion for creating original recipes and offers Everyday Gourmet "To Go" meals, along with a range of house-made condiments, jams, spreads, and baked goods. Her signature products, such as Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake and Chocolate Ganache Brownies, are well-loved. One of her favorite aspects of her profession is collaborating with clients to craft personalized menus that blend traditional favorites with unique twists, ensuring memorable dining experiences.
